This Privacy Policy describes how your information is collected, used, and shared when you use the mobile application AI Speak French: Practice Me (referred to as the “App” or “Application”), developed and operated by Mert App (referred to as “we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Developer”).

By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Application.

1. Information Collection and Use

We do not require users to create an account, sign in, or provide personal identity details (such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address) to use the App. All user profiles, learning progress, and settings are associated with anonymous, device-specific user identifiers.

However, to provide the features of the App, we use third-party services that collect and process certain anonymous data.

A. Microphone and Audio Data

Purpose: The App requires microphone access to enable voice-based practice and conversation features.
Processing: When you speak into the App, your voice input is processed locally on your device using Apple’s native iOS speech recognition APIs to transcribe your speech into text.
Storage: We do not record, upload, transmit, or store your voice audio recordings on our servers. All voice processing is done directly on your device.

B. Text and AI Conversations

Purpose: The text conversations you have with the AI French Coach are sent to the Google Gemini API to generate responses, grammar corrections, translations, and explanations.
Processing: This data is processed securely through secure APIs and is used solely to generate real-time feedback during your session.

C. In-App Purchases and Subscription Data

Purpose: To validate premium features and manage subscriptions.
Processing: We use RevenueCat and Apple App Store to handle in-app purchases. When you make a purchase, transactional data (such as purchase history, transaction identifiers, and subscription active status) is collected. No credit card or financial account information is stored or accessible by us.

D. Analytics and Diagnostics Data

Purpose: To understand App usage, optimize performance, and troubleshoot crashes.
Processing: We use Google Firebase (Firebase Analytics, Firebase Remote Config) and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous usage metrics (such as button clicks and screen views) and diagnostic reports (such as crash logs and device models). This data does not contain any personally identifiable information.

2. Third-Party Service Providers

We utilize trusted third-party services to assist in operating the Application. These service providers process data in compliance with their respective privacy policies:

3. Data Retention and Security

Because we do not collect personal identifiers, we do not store personal data on our servers. Anonymous progress history, error defters (Review Notebook), and preferences are saved locally on your device or synced anonymously via Firebase Firestore using secure, encrypted protocols. We employ industry-standard technical measures to protect all anonymous data processed by the App.

4. Children’s Privacy

Our Application is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under 13. Since we do not collect personal identifiers from any users, we do not intentionally hold or share data belonging to minors. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can immediately delete any such data.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the Application or on our official website. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
